I'm Brigitte Boulay, a visual artist and the creator behind Canvas & Calm Apothecary. I handcraft small-batch candles, bath and body products, and stationery with care and intention. I also enjoy showcasing the work of my family and friends, including my son's King's Own Reserve grooming line, which is a permanent part of my collection.

Giving back has always been at the heart of everything I do. In recognition of my work supporting Ottawa's homeless community through We Live in the Shadows, I was honoured to receive an Eagle Feather—a deeply meaningful gift that I carry with great respect. My poem, We Live in the Shadows, was later adapted into a song by Ottawa musicians.

Each month, I donate handmade soap sets to women's shelters. I also create small lip and cuticle balms that are gifted to every guest at my son's free haircuts-for-the-homeless events, offering a small gesture of care and dignity.

Canvas & Calm Apothecary is built on kindness, creativity, and community. Every item I create is handcrafted with love and intention, with the hope of bringing a little comfort to someone's day.
